Dreaming of the sun…

My work in process video for le soleil

The canvas for le soleil. Its pretty big. I love doing the almost gallery sized pieces!

The first digital draft of le soleiI felt like creating a draft of the sun in canva/photoshop, besides traditionally with pencil and paper.

I’m so excited I got through this piece.  I loved the idea of making a modernized version of the sun. The never ending turns of yellow and oranges that tumble into the dark, umber abyss.

This is one of my favorite modern pieces I’ve created. The feeling in the brushstrokes and in the swirls hold a lot of emotion for me, and I hope you can feel some of that emotion too!
